Where we meet
Just like an in-person course, we meet at a regularly scheduled date and time. Unlike an in-person exam, the classes are run via Zoom. You will be sent a link that will be your link for the duration of the course. Please have video on it at all possible as it makes it easier to interact with the group. Please note that all sessions are recorded.
Student Portal
Once you’re registered, you’ll be sighed up for the student portal. You’ll have access to the portal for one year. In the portal you’ll find many resources to help you through the Level 3 curriculum including maps, videos, weekly review questions and mock exams. All session recordings will also be posted here so if you have to miss a class, you can still listen to the lecture and follow along with the tasting.
Recommended Study Hours
We recommend that students study a minimum of 30 hours which includes the 16 hours of class time.
Passing the course
You need to achieve a minimum of 55% on the 50 multiple choice question exam to pass this course.
A score of 55% - 64% is a pass grade
A score of 65% - 84% is a pass with merit
A score of 85% and up is a pass with distinction
Online exam
You will need two devices in order to sit the exam. Both must have cameras and microphones,
Primary device will be used to take the exam. It can be PC, Mac or Linex. Devices not supported at this time are Android tablets (Nexus 7, etc.), iOS tablets (iPad, iPad mini, etc.) and Microsoft Surface Pro (and earlier versions).
Secondary device will be used to record you and your environment. You can you most mobile devices - phone or tablet. Devices not supported at this time are the Google Pixel series, Huawei P30 series, Huawei Y9S and the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016).
Resit Fees
In the event that you are unsuccessful on your exam, there is a resit fee of $175
Registration
In order to get your supplies to you in a timely basis, registration closes 10 days before the course start date.
